Central Public School currently provides WiFi access to students in their parking lot from 8 am until 9 pm for students to use with their own personal devices. With the current state of some programs continuing or being discontinued that may change. Currently we do no know how education is going to be affected by current and future policies coming from the federal government. Should it discontinue it will have a drastic effect on our student body because they may lose one of the few access points to free internet and depending on socioeconomic state of their household their options will become more limited for access.   Many studies show benefits of using technology with authentic learning approaches. Students gain more meaningful relationships with the content by practicing with authentic problems. It gives them real world experience with the problems in a controlled environment so when the question comes up whether they will use this in real life, they just did.
